The Salem RidgeYaks, Single-A affiliate of the Boston Red Sox, are the latest affiliated Minor League Baseball team to move away from a name based on their parent club to one that celebrates an aspect of the local community. Palm Beach Frozen Iguanas

The Single-A Palm Beach Cardinals are named for their parent club in St. Louis, but their first foray into a fun alternate identity proved to be a rousing success. The Frozen Iguanas pay tribute to a quirk of Florida wildlife that lends itself to some great logos.
